Katy Perry thanks her fans for ‘overwhelming support’ just over a day after confirming she’s expecting first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry used her art to confirm her pregnancy when she cradled her baby bump at the end of her new music video for Never Worn White.

And now, after an overwhelmingly positive response from people all over the world, the Fireworks star took to social media to thank her fans.

‘love u guys so much. was a bit nervous about sharing something so personal like the song n the bump n I hv never gotten this much love n support, it’s overwhelmingly lovely. thank u,’ Perry, 35, shared on Twitter just over a day after her big baby reveal.

The pop star thrilled her legion of fans when the music video for Never Worn White dropped Wednesday night.

Then, just minutes after the world premiere, she tweeted out how she was glad to finally be able to come clean about her secret, writing: ‘omg so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore, or carry around a big purse lol.’

Less than an hour later, Perry confirmed she was in fact expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom in an Instagram Live video, admitting it is ‘probably the longest secret’ she has ‘ever had to keep’.  

‘There’s a lot that will be happening this summer, not only will I be giving birth – literally – but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for,’ she said in the clip.

The Roar hitmaker admitted she and Bloom – who already has nine-year-old son Flynn with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr – are ecstatic about their pending bundle of joy, as well as her new music.             

‘So let’s call it a double whammy, a two fore,’ she added.

I’m excited, we’re excited and we’re happy – and it’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I knew I would tell you in the best way, which is through a piece of music because that’s how I speak to you.’

The California native then made a confession about one of the motivating factors involved in her decision to announce her pregnancy. 

‘I had to reveal it at some point, because it was getting pretty obvious.’

Turns out Perry was able to use her whimsical fashion choices to conceal her growing baby bump, which included wide design cuts, larger size items, and of course, large purses, like she alluded to in her confirmation tweet.

At this point it’s still unclear exactly how far along she is in her pregnancy, but she is expected to give birth sometime this summer.
