‘It’s hard to process’: Former Home and Away actress Sharni Vinson shares emotional tribute to late co-star Nicholas Tucci after his shock death

Former Home and Away star Sharni Vinson has paid an emotional tribute to Nicholas Tucci after his shock death this week. 

The pair starred together in the film You’re Next, with her paying her respects by sharing a photo of the pair on Instagram.

‘The devastation and tragedy of this week has been hard to process,’ she wrote, sharing a photo of the two of them at a promotional event.

‘It was an honor to have known you and worked with you on You’re Next. Heaven claims another too soon.’

You’re Next was a American black comedy horror film, which grossed more than $26 million at the box office and established a cult following.

Actor Nicholas died this week after a battle with a mystery illness he chose to keep private. He was just 38-years-old.

The actor’s father, Alexander Tucci, made the announcement in a statement on Facebook on Friday.   

‘This is Alexander Tucci, Nick’s father. On Tuesday, March 3, Nick died at the Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut,’ he began in the post. 

‘Nick chose to keep his illness private so that he could continue to pursue his professional and artistic dreams for as long as possible.’

His father revealed that his son was still able ‘to audition, go on location, and continue the work he loved so much’, over the last year of his life. 

Alexander went on to thank all the people that had worked and supported his son over his career.

‘To those of you in the film, television, and theater communities… thank you for guiding, encouraging, and supporting Nick. 

‘To those of you who enjoyed Nick’s work on the screen and stage… thank you for recognising his talent and appreciating his efforts.’  

He ended by adding, ‘To all…thank you for your gift of friendship to my son.’
