Ajay Rochester flirts up a storm with truck driver Matt on First Dates Australia

‘The more you drink, the better I look!’ Ajay Rochester flirts up a storm with truck driver Matt on First Dates Australia – before scoring a kiss

Ajay Rochester made a surprise return to reality TV last week when she debuted on First Dates Australia.

The former Biggest Loser host, 50, was paired with down-to-earth truck driver Matt, 37, and the couple hit it off straight away.

At the beginning of the episode, Ajay told producers that she’s struggled to find love due to her fame.

‘Being in the public eye and dating is tough. I just don’t want someone to have a preconceived idea of me. So if he doesn’t recognise me, that’s actually a win for me,’ she revealed.

Her prayers were seemingly answered when Matt arrived at the First Dates restaurant, as he appeared not to know who she was.

‘Yes he doesn’t know who I am! Thank you!’ a relieved Ajay told producers in a piece-to-camera.

Offering him a beverage from the bar, Ajay nervously joked: ‘The more you drink the better I look!’

Things became more uncomfortable for the former I’m A Celebrity camp-mate when Matt asked her what she does for a living.

‘I work in [television] casting in LA. And then I also write,’ she said, glossing over her work as a reality TV host and contestant.

‘I just keep trying to avoid answering the question,’ the mother-of-one told producers.

Eventually, Ajay confessed her celebrity status, but was shocked when Matt said he knew who she was all along.

‘The first time I saw you I was like, ‘Here we go. There’s that drama queen,’ Matt joked.

‘That motherf**er! He can play with a poker face!’ laughed Ajay.

When the dinner date ended, Matt chivalrously decided to pay the bill.

‘Matt’s very sweet. He’s the kind of guy who will open a door for me. He will put me first, and I’ve never had that in a guy ever, and that was really sweet,’ Ajay cooed to the cameras.

‘That was a defining moment, when he put his hand on that bill.’

At the end of the evening, the couple were quizzed by producers on whether their date was successful.

The couple gleefully confirmed that they felt chemistry between them, and wanted to go on a second date.

Since the episode aired, however, Ajay has confirmed that the couple decided not to pursue a romantic relationship.

‘We stay in touch but distance is a killer so for now we are just friends,’ she wrote on Instagram on Thursday, adding: ‘But he’s a lovely lovely guy and [Channel Seven] did an amazing job of actually matching us up.’
