And on Monday, the man in question, Locky Gilbert, was getting very hands-on with a mystery brunette during a romantic date.
The 30-year-old threw his arms around the delighted lass as they enjoyed time aboard the Sir Thomas Sopwith at Rushcutters Bay on Sydney Harbour.

The beaming brunette opted for a flirty summer dress with a spotted animal print throughout.
The short length showed off her tanned pins, and she chose a pair of flat, black sandals.

On Thursday, Brooke shared a lengthy Instagram post in which she spoke of being ‘hurt’ and ‘blindsided’ by Locky’s big announcement that he was appearing on The Bachelor the day before.
The Melbourne-based personal trainer, 26, wrote: ‘Yes, I’m hurt and a little blindsided (excuse the pun) but I wish the best for Locky. I always will.’
She jokingly said that she hopes her ex ‘stacks it and splits his pants on day one’.
Brooke continued: ‘I guess we had different things planned in our heads for what was to come over the next few months, but you can’t be mad at someone for doing what they feel is best for them, even if it does sting a little.

‘I know I have bigger and better things in store (maybe not bigger actually, Locky is pretty bloody big) but definitely better.’

‘We became incredibly close during Survivor,’ Locky told NW.

The insider also suggested the producers readily agreed to the showmance and even ‘encouraged them’, wanting to give the audience two characters to become invested in.
The publication’s source also alleged Brooke has hopes of becoming the next Bachelorette, both knowing it would be mutually beneficial to stage the on-screen relationship.
