Brad Pitt skipped last month’s BAFTAs to be by his daughter’s bedside as she recovered from surgery, according to a new report.
During the recent awards season, the 56-year-old actor scooped several trophies for his lauded efforts in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood – but missed out on flying to London for February 2’s BAFTAs, with sources at the time citing a ‘family obligation’.
And, after his ex-wife Angelina Jolie revealed that daughters Shiloh, 13, and Zahara, 15, recently underwent surgeries, a source has told Page Six that Pitt nixed jetting to the UK for the sake of his offspring, explaining: ‘The children come before anything.’

When contacted by MailOnline for comment, representatives for Brad Pitt declined to comment.
The report comes after his ex-wife Jolie, 44, revealed in a Time essay that her daughters have each recently endured surgeries.
‘I have spent the last two months in and out of surgeries with my eldest daughter and days ago watched her younger sister go under the knife for a hip surgery,’ the Maleficent actress, a contributing editor for Time, began her essay.

Actress Jolie, who did not name Shiloh in her essay, wrote that she was impressed by how the family came together during this time of pain.
‘They understand that going through medical challenges and fighting to survive and heal is something to be proud of,’ Jolie wrote.
Jolie, who stars in the upcoming film Those Who Wish Me Dead, has bravely admitted to her own operations in the past – including a double mastectomy and having her ovaries removed as a preventative measure to ward off cancer.
But this time she spoke out about her children’s procedures.

‘They know that I am writing this, because I respect their privacy and we discussed it together and they encouraged me to write,’ she explained.
‘They understand that going through medical challenges and fighting to survive and heal is something to be proud of.’
Describing how her children bonded, she wrote: ‘I have watched my daughters care for one another. My youngest daughter [Vivienne] studied the nurses with her sister, and then assisted the next time.
‘I saw how all my girls so easily stopped everything and put each other first, and felt the joy of being of service to those they love. I also watched them their face fears with a resolute bravery.

‘We all know that moment when no one else can help us, and all we can do is close our eyes and breathe. When only we can take the next step or breath through the pain, so we steady ourselves and do it.’
The mother-of-six also brought up her other children – sons Knox, 11, Pax, 16, and Maddox, 18. ‘Their brothers were there for them, supportive and sweet,’ she wrote.
‘But on this International Women’s Day, writing from the hospital, I find myself focusing on my daughters for a moment, and all that I have learned from them and other young girls I have met around the world.’
Last month, Pitt was notably absent from the BAFTAs, with his Once Upon A Time In Hollywood co-star Margot Robbie accepting the award on his behalf.

The actress drew laughs as she made reference to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s exit from the UK and the monarchy, quipping: ‘He says he is going to name this Harry because he is really excited about bringing it back to the States with him.’
‘Hey Britain, heard you just became single, welcome to the club,’ read the speech, as the Hollywood star went on to poke fun at Megxit.
Reading Brad’s words from a sheet of paper, Margot, 29, closed the acceptance speech by saying: ‘Oh, and he says that he is going to name this Harry because he is really excited about bringing it back to the States with him.’
As the audience reacted, the Australian beauty added: ‘His words, not mine.’
Pitt and Jolie went public with their relationship in 2005, eventually tying the knot in 2014. They announced their split in 2016, with their divorce finalised in April 2019.

When contacted by MailOnline at the time, a representative for Pitt declined to comment regarding his absence from the show.
However, a source close to the actor revealed to MailOnline that the star was unable to attend the event due to ‘family obligations’.
Father-of-six Pitt, who went on to win an Acadamy Award one week after the BAFTAs, said at the time that he planned to celebrate his successful Hollywood awards season with his children once it was over.
The actor told Entertainment Tonight: ‘Really, it hasn’t been a lot of time to celebrate, you know? It’s like, they call it a season for a reason. So we’ll do that when it’s all said and done, I’m sure.’
