Today show hosts Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon sampled the world’s hottest chilli during a live segment on Monday.
Proving they’re not afraid of a challenge, the breakfast TV anchors ignored advice from an expert to avoid a taste test at all costs.
After trying the red hot chilli, Karl broke out in sweats and Allison frantically guzzled down milk to sooth her burning throat.

Karl and Allison were interviewing chilli eating champion Steve Batancs when they decided to try the chilli for themselves.
‘What’s your advice for Ally before she partakes?’ Karl asked, prompting a worried-looking Steve to say: ‘I wouldn’t eat one!’
He then advised her to ‘eat it quick and just swallow it’ so the heat doesn’t linger in her mouth for too long.

Allison took a bite and almost immediately looked in severe pain. It was Karl’s turn next, and he appeared to regret his decision straight away.
They both cooled down by drinking milk and were hardly able to speak.
‘It’s stinking hot inside my body. I feel like I’m going to explode!’ Karl said while sweating profusely through his shirt.

‘I’m an experienced chilli campaigner, but this is the hottest thing I’ve ever eaten in my life,’ he added.
