  • Shocking footage shows Arthur Mallejac narrowly avoiding disaster in Belgium
  • Three bikers race past him on single carriageway close to The Eau d’Heure lakes
  • Video then shows one of the motorcyclists injured at the side of the road

This is the shocking moment a Belgian motorcyclist was centimetres from disaster after three other bikers came hurtling towards him on the wrong side of the road.

The remarkable video, which translates as ‘two fingers from death’, has been viewed 400,000 times since being uploaded on Monday.

The GoPro footage shows Arthur Mallejac, who goes by the YouTube account name, Piston, setting off on a journey close to The Eau d’Heure lakes – a beauty spot popular for fishing, kayaking and windsurfing near the village of Cerfontaine and around 10 miles from the French border.

Riding a Yamaha YZF-R125, the 20-year-old, from Waterloo, near Brussels, accelerates up the rural, single carriageway, reaching a top speed of 95mph.

However, as he approaches a slight incline on the road, Arthur is unexpectedly met with headlights on his side of the road.

Shocking footage shows how three bikes suddenly whiz past Arthur Mallejac – two on his left side and one on his right – missing him by the narrowest of margins near a Belgian beauty spot

Three bikes then suddenly whiz past him – two on his left side and one on his right – missing him by the narrowest of margins.

A slow-motion replay edited in afterwards demonstrates exactly how close a miss it was.

The shocked motorcyclist is forced to slow down as a result and the video cuts to him at the side of the road, where he discusses the incident with a friend.

The shocked motorcyclist told his YouTube followers he was 'very happy to be able to write to you and to be still alive'

The footage then moves on to show a rider lying injured on the carriageway alongside a badly-damaged green bike, similar to one of the three that hurtled past him earlier.

Arthur told his subscriber base of nearly 1,200 people: ‘I am very happy to be able to write to you and to be still alive at the moment after having avoided a few crazy bikers by a few centimetres.’
