Her sister Kellie, 23, said Ms Mason’s condition has deteriorated to the point where she can ‘no longer see my sister when I look at her,’ the Liverpool Echo reports.

The cause of Ms Mason’s stomach pain was diagnosed after six months of back-and-forth medical appointments.

She immediately faced the challenge of a year of chemotherapy.

During this time, she was also told the cancer had spread to her ovaries, meaning that she needed an operation to remove a cyst eight inches wide.

But Ms Mason, who used to work in health and beauty, has now been told she has just one month left to live.

Kellie said: ‘When it first started she thought she would get rid of it, it will be fine and she started spending more time with the kids.

‘We never saw her cry about it, she just carried on. She was more worried about the kids. Everyone just kept saying she was so strong.’

However, despite being told that her cancer had spread, Ms Mason did not change her behaviour around her children.

She added: ‘Throughout all this time she was so lively and the kids couldn’t tell any difference with her.’

She added: ‘Her oldest daughter knows what’s going on and she’s seeing a counsellor.

‘The youngest one has cried, but she can’t really understand that she’s not going to be here any more.

‘We don’t know how much longer she has, but we think it’s going to be soon.’

Kellie has set up a gofundme page and said that while the family should not have to be worrying about money at this time, they are forced to do so.

So far, just over £5,000 has been raised.
