During Tuesday’s episode, fans watched Seb squirm as Gillian grilled him over his personal finances, career choices and lack of a property portfolio.
The 31-year-old retired footy player clarified that he has ‘grown close’ to his mother-in-law since filming the show and they are now on good terms.

Seb commented on the MAFS Funny Instagram account: ‘Hey guys, Lizzie’s mum is actually a real sweetheart and we have since gotten quite close.
‘Yes, the questioning was a bit severe and unnatural, but Lizzie also went through unnatural and severe circumstances [on MAFS] last year. Lizzie’s mum is naturally even more protective of who enters Lizzie’s life – it’s all okay.
‘But please, stop attacking her. She’s truly a very caring person and this roast is surpassing my roast – and we don’t want two overly burnt meals.’
Seb decided to speak out after MAFS viewers had started making cruel comments about Gillian’s appearance on social media.

‘How much does that pay? Not much!’ she snapped at the dinner table.
Gillian then told Seb that her daughter needed someone with an income that could ‘sustain the life she’s accustomed to’.
