Gal Gadot brings together Natalie Portman and Zoe Kravitz to sing John Lennon’s Imagine on Instagram


Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot took to Instagram on Day 6 of her self-quarantine process, and she decided to bring some of her celebrity friends together, digitally.

The 34-year-old Israeli-born actress shared an Instagram video with her 36.8 million followers, which featured a celebrity-fueled medley of John Lennon’s 1971 classic Imagine.

She was joined by a few of her fellow female superheroes such as Natalie Portman (Thor) and Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman), to sing the iconic tune, with many more chiming in as well.

Gadot, wearing a maroon long-sleeved shirt, opened by saying that her self-quarantine has got her, ‘feeling philosophical.’

‘This virus had affected the entire world, everyone, it doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, we’re all in this together,’ she said.

The actress added she found a video of a man playing a trumpet in Italy, where the entire country in lockdown, and he was playing John Lennon’s Imagine.

‘It was so powerful and pure about this video, and it goes like this,’ Gadot added, before starting the first line of the song.

The video then cut to Kristen Wiig delivering a line, followed by Jamie Dornan, Labrinth, James Marsden and Sarah Silverman.

The video continued with a new celebrity delivering each line including Eddie Benjamin, Jimmy Fallon, Natalie Portman, Zoe Kravitz and Sia.

Gadot even enlisted the original Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter, along with Amy Adams, Leslie Odom Jr., Pedro Pascal, Chris O’Dowd and Dawn O’Porter.

The video ends with verses by Will Ferrell, Mark Ruffalo, Norah Jones, Ashley Benson, Kaia Gerber, Cara Delevingne, Annie Mumolo and Maya Rudolph, before Gadot sang the last line.

The medley comes as several Hollywood productions are being shut down and movies being delayed, after movie theaters across the country are being shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Gadot’s own superhero sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, is in danger of being delayed, currently slated to hit theaters June 5.

Most of the major movie releases in late March and April have been delayed, along with Marvel’s Black Widow, slated for release on May 1.

Warner Bros. has yet to officially push the release of Wonder Woman 1984, but it’s possible it could happen if the movie theater shutdown continues.
