Ariana Grande has asked for urgent protection against a stalker who turned up at her home last weekend.

The 26-year-old singer filed a restraining order on Friday for protection from a man who managed to get onto her property in Los Angeles and knock on her door.

Ariana’s mother Joan is also asking for protection, TMZ reports.

The crazed fan, a man in his 20s, was arrested at around 2pm on Saturday after managing to bypass security and knock on Ariana’s front door.

It was one of Ariana’s property managers who answered the door to the stalker who asked for the singer.

Police were called and the fan was found to have a love note to Ariana including directions to her home.

Police arrived and booked him for misdemeanor trespassing and felony battery after he allegedly spat on one of the police officers arresting him.

The incident came just two weeks after Ariana was the victim of a hoax 911 call at her Los Angeles home.

Emergency services were alerted following a report of a shooting on the pop superstar’s property, according to TMZ.

Police officers were sent to investigate the report, where they quickly ascertained that nothing was wrong.

It’s understood the singer had been swatted, a term referring to the harassing tactic of deceiving emergency services into sending a response team to another person’s address.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that attending officers were initially skeptical that a crime had been committed because Grande had previously been the victim of a similar hoax.

But still they sent two cars over to the residence and spoke with the property manager, who quickly put them at ease by confirming nothing untoward had happened.

Police took a 911 abuse report, and will continue to investigate the case to dissuade swatting calls, which takes vital time and resources away from genuine emergency calls.
