The media personality – who left reality TV to focus on her role as a stepmum – said she’s ‘thinking of all mothers’ as she marked the celebration five years after Rebecca passed away from breast cancer.

Brave Kate wrote: ‘Happy Mother’s Day everyone. A special day to appreciate everyone who gives us the love, care and attention we need…

‘To the ladies that are here and those that are watching over us from heaven. Love has no limits, love is not bound by blood.

‘Love is love, and it is so powerful. I hope all of u feel special and appreciated today. And for those without Mums here I hope you can find the strength to celebrate the good times. I am thinking of you all today.’ [sic]

The Essex beauty embarked on a relationship with former sportsman Rio, 41, in 2017, with the pair tying the knot last year.

As Kate adjusted to becoming a step mum, she admitted posting her life with the children on social media gave her crippling anxiety.

The couple recently gave their fans a look into their lives in their BBC documentary, Rio And Kate: Becoming A Stepfamily.

In an exclusive chat with MailOnline earlier this month, Kate said: ‘I always struggle to share my life with the children and that did give me anxiety.’

She faced a wave of backlash from trolls who labelled her a ‘gold digger’ when her relationship with Rio first came to light.

And in the pair’s film, the blonde said getting to know the children and Rio as a unit was a ‘hard couple of years’ as she was met with hostility from extended family members.

Two years on, Kate says she is more relaxed about being ‘honest’ about the highs and lows of parenting.

Kate said: ‘I’m just being more open and honest with everything. I’ve found a happy-medium.

‘We compare ourselves to everyone’s best bits and we don’t always know what’s going on.

‘So I’ve made a conscious effort to try and be more open and honest and share not always the great bits of my life and that makes me feel better aswell because you haven’t got as much pressure to live up to what everything thinks is happening.’
