Married At First Sight’s Michael Goonan blasts ‘nonsense’ rumours he used cocaine on set – and insists he’s NOT a ‘deadbeat dad’

Married At First Sight bad-boy Michael Goonan has set the record straight on swirling rumours about his wild antics during filming.

Speaking to Monday’s New Idea magazine, the 28-year-old business owner hit back at ‘nonsense’ reports he used cocaine on set.

‘I was never warned or cautioned for the use of drugs on the show. I never took drugs on the show,’ Michael said.

The single father added that producers had a ‘zero-tolerance policy’ when it came to drugs, and that he would have been kicked off the show if he were found with illegal substances.

Despite this, Michael claimed some of his fellow participants accused him of taking drugs during filming.

This led him to be drug tested three times, but Michael claimed that every test came back clear.

Michael, whose hard partying landed him in trouble with ‘wife’ Stacey Hampton, also claimed that he was never drunk on set.

‘You will never see me drunk or slurring my words on camera. Yes, I had a few boozy nights out when we weren’t filming, but I never broke the rules of production or the curfew,’ he insisted.

Elsewhere in the interview, Michael lashed out at Stacey for previously calling him a ‘deadbeat dad’.

Michael said that his son Connor is the most important thing in his life, and that Stacey’s claims are ‘disgraceful’ and a ‘complete lie’.

The Melbourne-based reality star shares custody of Connor with his ex-partner, who resides in Adelaide.

Connor lives with his mother, but Michael insisted that he travels to Adelaide as much as possible to see his son.
