Little Women: LA’s Christy McGinity says two-week old baby daughter Violet Eva has tragically passed after premature birth

  • Baby was born seven weeks premature on March 6, during 33rd week of pregnancy
  • Child died on March 20, according to parents 
  • They said, ‘We were able to spend two weeks with our sweet baby girl and for that we are forever thankful’ 
  • Couple asks for privacy amid tragic time of mourning  

Christy McGinity and boyfriend Gonzalo Justo Carazo say they have lost their two-week-old daughter Violet Eva after she died March 20.

‘It is with our deepest sorrow that we send our baby girl Violet Eva Carazo to play with the angels,’ the Little Women: LA star, 42, told People. ‘We were able to spend two weeks with our sweet baby girl and for that we are forever thankful.’

The couple continued: ‘Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.’

McGinity and Carazo welcomed Violet Eva March 6, during her 33rd week of pregnancy, her rep told the publication. 

The child was measured at 15 inches and weighed three pounds and 15 ounces at birth.

‘Our sweet Violet Eva has arrived. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated,’ she said in a shot on Instagram.

In a subsequent post, Carazo was seen signing the child’s birth certificate.

The couple revealed they were expecting a child last September when McGinity took to Instagram writing, ‘I’m so excited that we are having a baby. What a big blessing. Good things come to those who wait.’

The Lifetime personality told more than 378,000 followers, ‘Our bundle of joy is coming April 2020.’

Last month, she shared a shot of her stomach writing, ‘She is not ready. Please pray that contractions stop.’

This month, the Burbank, California native alluded to complications in social media posts, saying, she had ‘a rough few weeks’ while thanking Carazo for his uplifting support. 

McGinty is also mother to two children from her previous marriage, daughter Autumn, 20, and son Trenton.
