Footage shows the moment a parking warden appears to dance for joy as he puts a ticket on the car of an elderly gentleman during the coronavirus crisis.

The video was filmed by outraged Ben Toovey, 40, who watched the scene unfold as the owner of the car, an elderly gentleman, stepped into a nearby pharmacy to collect his wife’s medication.

In the video, shot in Bromley, South East London, on Friday morning at around 10.30am, Mr Toovey confronts the dancing man as he completes the issuing of the fine, reports The Sun.

Mr Toovey can be heard behind the camera exclaiming: ‘Happy as Larry giving people parking tickets when there’s a crisis out there, you’re a f****** disgrace.’

To which the warden replies: ‘That’s not my problem. Thank you very much for minding your own business.’

Speaking to The Sun about the incident Mr Toovey said: ‘It broke my heart. My language was a bit over the top but everyone is emotional. (…) He was dancing. I said ‘for Christ sake come on’.’

Some people on Twitter suggested the man was not a key worker while others praised him for doing his job

The father-of-three Mr Toovey is currently doing his bit delivering vegetables to locals during the crisis and urged others to help out.

He posted the video of the traffic warden to Twitter with the caption: ‘Absolute disgrace old man going to collect his wife’s medication. Boris Johnson please do something about this Bromley MPS.’

Thousands liked and commented on the video, some questioning whether the dancing warden should be out of isolation and if he could be classed as a key worker.

While @AddickLium added: ‘But thieving councils will be wanting to make money if they can.’

Others supported the traffic warden, @shapestonia tweeted: ‘What so thousands of people off work roaming around can now park wherever they want? The Traffic warden is keeping law and order. The foul-mouthed s*** b** shouting at a traffic warden has not got a clue about running a city.’
