Married At First Sight’s Aleks Markovic asks for ‘privacy’ after split

Married At First Sight’s Aleks Markovic split from ‘husband’ Ivan Sarakula in February.

And shortly after the finale episode aired on Sunday, the 26-year-old asked Instagram fans for ‘privacy’ in dealing with the breakup.

‘Please respect my privacy on the matter as just like anyone out in the “real” world, some relationships just don’t work out,’ the real estate agent said.

Aleks also revealed in the caption that she had different values and needs to Ivan.

‘Our values, wants, needs and lifestyles didn’t align and that’s okay. I wish him nothing but the best,’ she said.

However, the brunette isn’t wallowing in self-pity, telling fans that she still believes in soulmates.

‘I do not doubt that my soulmate is out there somewhere.’

During Sunday’s episode, Aleks and Ivan, 30, explained how they reunited privately after quitting the show halfway through, with their co-stars failing to believe them.

After filming the finale on January 16, they then split weeks later in early February.

‘We’re in a really good place, but we got very heavily pressured within the walls of this experiment,’ said Ivan, confirming they’re now in an official relationship.

Josh Pihlak was first to voice his doubts, saying: ‘I’m so f**king confused.’

After the group then watched footage back of Aleks and Ivan’s final dinner party, the couple addressed the cheating allegations they faced before quitting the show.

‘Can I just say something? Do you think if I really cheated on my husband we’d still be sitting here together? Not where we come from, morally,’ Aleks hit back.

‘We definitely had no cheating scandal. I went out with a woman and there was the 50-year-old restaurant owner there. If that’s cheating, you can say that’s cheating.’

‘We’ve come here saying we love each other, we’re loyal to each other, we’re working on things and we’re exclusive – who knows what the future holds,’ he declared.

As Mishel Karen rolled her eyes, Amanda Micallef whispered: ‘I think they’re faking it.’

Cathy Evans responded: ‘Oh yeah, same.’
