Married At First Sight’s Aleks Markovic has revealed new details from her split from TV ‘husband’ Ivan Sarakula.
Aleks claims the couple, who separated in February, were ‘better off as friends’ following a turbulent relationship beyond the show’s reunion.
The 27-year-old told her Instagram fans via a Q&A session on Wednesday: ‘Our lifestyle was just so different. We were just fighting a lot it was becoming toxic.’

Aleks also revealed that a difference in values, lifestyles and desires to start a family lead to their split.
‘I’m ready to settle down and have kids and I just think our lifestyles wouldn’t match up with raising kids together,’ she said.
Aleks said she had plans to have three children – two boys and a girl.

‘I need my values to match up with a man. I need them to be similar to me on how they want to raise kids, etc,’ she said.
However, Aleks made sure to say she though Ivan was ‘a great person’ and they were simply ‘better of as friends’.
She also said despite their separation, she still considered their ‘dream wedding’ on MAFS as her favourite memory while filming the Nine show.

Shortly after the finale episode aired on Sunday, Aleks asked Instagram fans for ‘privacy’ in dealing with the breakup.
‘Please respect my privacy on the matter as just like anyone out in the “real” world, some relationships just don’t work out,’ the real estate agent said.
During Sunday’s episode, Aleks and Ivan, 30, explained how they reunited privately after quitting the show halfway through, with their co-stars failing to believe them.
After filming the finale on January 16, they then split weeks later in early February.
