‘It was the worst I have ever felt in my life’: Jimmy Barnes reveals one particular chapter in his new memoir took MONTHS to write as it made him emotional and constantly cry

Jimmy Barnes is currently working on his third memoir, titled ‘Killing Time’.

And on Sunday, the 63-year-old Aussie rock legend revealed he was brought to tears writing one chapter about his two dead dogs Oliver and SnoopDog.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Jimmy said it took him months to write the chapter ‘Money For Bones’ as it constantly brought back memories of canine companions.

‘Every time I went to write about my two dogs, I’d start at 10am and be back in bed a couple of hours later, crying until that night. It literally took me months, that (chapter),’ he told the publication.

‘I think it is the worst I have ever felt in my life losing those two guys; they were my little anchors, my little lights,’ Jimmy said.

‘I’ve got my boys on the mantelpiece – we had them cremated – and I have been reading these stories to them; I heard a woof, I’m sure.’

‘Today I lost Oliver. Now both my darling boys are gone. Everything hurts and life will never be the same again,’ he wrote on Instagram at the time.

Jimmy’s other grey schnauzer, named ‘SnoopDog’, died 10 months earlier in September 2018.

In a highly emotional post on Twitter at the time, he wrote: ‘It’s hard to say goodbye to a best friend.

‘I’ll hold you until you slip away, we’ll be together under the piano with all of us around you SnoopDog.’

Jimmy’s next book, Killing Time, is a collection of ‘short stories from the long road home’ and is scheduled for release on October 7, 2020.
