Anna Kendrick shares dreamy cover of Instyle Mexico after Trolls World Tour has strong online debut

Anna Kendrick poses on new InStyle Mexico cover… as her new film Trolls World Tour attracts huge audience during streaming debut

With theaters shut and new film releases mostly postponed, Hollywood’s biggest stars are at an unexpected loose end.

But Anna Kendrick is still busy promoting her latest venture, following the streaming release of her new family film Trolls World Tour on Friday.

While the intended theatrical release was cancelled, Anna was doing her best to work the promotional trail from home – sharing her new cover for the April issue of InStyle Mexico to Instagram on Monday.

It comes as her Trolls sequel broke new records as a digital release.

With schools closed and many parents working from home, early projections Monday pegged Trolls World Tour to do ten times better than producing studio Universal’s previous digital champ, Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom, according to Deadline.

Signs point to the film performing even better than billion dollar-grossing Marvel juggernaut Avengers: Endgame.

And on the same day, Anna took to her Instagram to show off two images from her InStyle piece, standing barefoot in the same ethereal garment backlit by the sun, which allows the silhouette of her legs to be seen through her flimsy skirt.

‘Knock me over with a feather,’ the 5ft2in actress captioned the image coyly.

On Friday, Kendrick shared a promotional visual from her new Trolls film to herald its release for steaming, writing, ‘Of course we wanted everyone to see Trolls World Tour in a movie theater but I’m so happy we can bring the movie theater to you’.

Kendrick, who is an Oscar nominee for her supporting role in Jason Reitman’s 2009 film Up In The Air, costars in Trolls World Tour with Justin Timberlake, Sam Rockwell, Kelly Clarkson and Rachel Bloom, who all lend their voices to tell a new and expanded story featuring the Trolls.

In the new film, the Trolls – based on the popular toys from the Sixties through to the Nineties – discover that they come from one of six different Troll tribes throughout the world, each devoted to a different and specific kind of music.

The film was supposed to be released theatrically nationwide this month, but that move was relegated to digital release on Amazon Prime Video and similar platforms last Friday, since cinemas in most of the world remain shuttered due to the highly contagious coronavirus.

While the film did hit theaters in Russia, Malaysia and Singapore in early March, before most governmental restrictions were put in place, the sequel is rolling out online only this month in the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

The theatrical release of Trolls World Tour in Turkey, Brazil and much of Europe has been postponed until late September or October, in hopes that social gatherings will again be allowed and moviegoers will feel comfortable gathering once more in theaters.

Kendrick again plays troll Poppy in the new kids movie, opposite fellow lead Timberlake as the pair again showcase their singing talents in this followup to the 2016 hit.
