RHOBH Denise Richards fears daughters will grow up with ‘daddy issues’

RHOBH’s Denise Richards says she fears daughters could grow up with ‘daddy issues’ like the women their troubled father Charlie Sheen ‘entertained’

Denise Richards is sharing her concerns over co-parenting with her troubled ex, actor Charlie Sheen.

“There’s a lot that the kids don’t know about their dad, and I want to keep it that way,” Denise, 49, revealed in last night’s episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Denise and Charlie, 54, were married from 2002 to 2006, and share children Sam, 16, and Lola, 14.

Just putting it out there: RHOBH’s Denise Richards revealed on last night’s episode that she worried her daughters will grow up with ‘daddy issues’

“Even though he’s Charlie Sheen, that is still, to them, their dad. I never talk badly about him and I want him to be part of their lives because I met a lot of the women that Charlie entertained and a lot of them had father-daughter issues. And I do not want that to be our girls.”

‘Daddy issues’ is often used in psychological terms, as an informal phrase that describes challenges resulting from an absent or abnormal relationship with one’s father, which can later manifest into troubled relationships with men who act as father figures.

Family matters: Denise and Charlie, 54, were married from 2002 to 2006, and share children Sam, 16, and Lola, 14.

Meanwhile, Denise is also the mother of Eloise, who she adopted as a single parent in 2011, while Charlie has twins Bob and Max, 11, with ex-wife Brooke Mueller, as well as an adult daughter, Cassandra, 35, with his former high school girlfriend Paula Profit, 55.

Later in the episode, Denise explained to husband Aaron Phypers why she’s decided not to go to court with ex Charlie, after she alleged that he owed her $450,000 in back payments for child support.

“Now I have a hearing set for November. But I do not want to go through all of that. I just don’t. It’s not just a one-time thing where you just show up to court,” she said.

“It’s like an ongoing thing where you can have depositions, declarations from different people. And that’s something, you know, the girls are going to be able to hear.”

Following their divorce in 2006, hell-raiser Charlie became known for having multiple relationships with women that were referred to as his ‘goddesses.’
