New Better Homes and Gardens landscaper Charlie Albone has purchased a $2.35million property in Sydney’s coastal suburb of Maroubra.

The 39-year-old TV personality recently took possession of the red-brick semi, which is said to be a fixer upper, with his interior designer wife Juliet Love.

The serial renovators hope to modernise the house, just as they had done at their Ourimbah acreage retreat, which they bought in 2012 for $840,000, according to Domain.

The purchase follows Charlie’s decision late last year to quit Foxtel’s Selling Houses Australia to join the Better Homes and Gardens team, replacing Jason Hodges.

Jason was brutally cut from Channel Seven lifestyle show after 16 years.

But Charlie was thrilled to get the position, telling fans on Instagram in February: ‘Excitement overload! For those that don’t know yet I will be joining the amazing team at Better Homes and Gardens.’

He continued: ‘It’s a show I can remember watching when I first came to Australia 20 years ago so to be asked to be part of it seems crazy but an experience I’m loving.’

Charlie went on to say that he will focusing on ‘all things gardens’.

‘Thanks to the team who have made me feel so welcome Johanna Griggs (AM I might add) is a legend as is Adam Dovile who has more energy than anyone can fathom.’
