One Direction fans were sent wild earlier this week when it was revealed former member Zayn Malik is expecting his first child with Gigi Hadid.
And while his devoted fans, followers and the army of ‘Directioners’ were gushing over the happy news, they also swarmed Twitter to speculate if his former bandmates would offer congratulations to the star.
The wonderment comes on the back of years of rumoured fractions between Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson and Zayn, who left in 2015, with many hoping the happy news will help heal wounds among the group.

Gigi officially confirmed her pregnancy on Thursday night when she appeared on The Tonight Show from home.
‘Thank you so much,’ Gigi said after Jimmy congratulated her on the pregnancy. ‘Obviously we wish we could have announced it on our own terms, but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support.’
While congratulations flooded in, for many fans the concern was based around the Zayn’s relationship with his one-time bandmates.
As well as begging the boys to congratulate the star, they also hoped fellow 1D dads Louis, who shares son Louis with ex Briana Jungwirth, and Liam, who has son Bear with his ex Cheryl, would give advice to the star.

Zayn has caused ructions among fans with various bold swipes at his former bandmates and regarding his time in the band.
In 2016, the star, who has had a notable feud with Louis, said: ‘I never really wanted to be there, like in the band…
‘I just gave it a go because it was there at the time, and when I realised the direction we were going in – mind the pun – with the music, I instantly realised it wasn’t for me, because I realised I couldn’t put any input in.’
