‘My garden is completely bald!’ Michelle Keegan leaves The One Show’s Alex Jones in stitches with cheeky innuendo during hilarious interview

Michelle Keegan left The One Show host Alex Jones in hysterics during Monday’s show after saying her garden was ‘completely bald’.

The actress, 32, appeared on the show via link and told Alex and fill-in host Gethin Jones she was passing the time in lockdown by doing some gardening.

However, Michelle unintentionally made a cheeky innuendo that left Alex and Gethin struggling to compose themselves.

Gethin asked Michelle about her impressive gardening abilities that she has been documenting on Instagram which led to the hilarious moment.

She said: ‘I bought a hedge trimmer from Amazon. Let me tell you know, my garden is completely bald!

‘I got carried away and now I’m obsessed with it. To be fair I didn’t do all the garden, that was an oldish picture.’

The innuendo saw Alex and Gethin burst into fits of giggles while Michelle remained blissfully unaware and carried on talking.

Alex and Gethin moved swiftly on and Michelle later revealed she will not be replacing Holly Willoughby on the Celebrity Juice panel but confirmed ‘the door has been left open’ for her to return to Our Girl.

The actress was hotly tipped to replace Holly as team captain on the ITV2 comedy show when she departs at the end of the series.

Michelle insisted: ‘Celebrity Juice. Well I can officially say that’s not true unfortunately. Don’t get me wrong, I love the show, I find it hilarious but no, that’s not true.’

The star was thought to be among the favourites to join the show, with others in the running including Scarlett Moffatt and Ferne Cotton, who left the show in 2018.

It was revealed earlier this year that Michelle would depart her role as Georgie Lane on Our Girl after four years.

The actress, who replaced Lacey Turner on the show, admitted it was a ‘hard decision’ to leave the series and described the role as ‘life-changing’.

However, Michelle confirmed on The One Show that fans may see the return of Georgie at some point in the future.

She said: ‘I’ve done four series altogether and I just thought Georgie deserved a bit of break. It was just for me to try and get other opportunities.

‘I’m glad it’s over now because now I can officially say, I can always come back. The door has been left open for Georgie. I absolutely love the show, I’m so proud of it. Hopefully you’ll see Georgie again.’

Michelle also chatted about her role on Sky comedy Brassic where she plays Erin Croft, one of five friends who resort to petty crime in order to make ends meet.

The star told how the cast bonded during filming of the most recent series as they all lived in the same apartment block.

She said: ‘We’d go for dinner downstairs or we’d see each other in the gym. To be fair, we were quite well behaved this season.

‘I think it was the last week we did the karaoke night. We’re really good mates and I think you can see that on screen as well.’
