‘That wasn’t me. I was a mess’: Rose Adam reveals she struggled with anxiety and was unable to ‘have fun’ on MasterChef as she’s eliminated from the show – leaving fans ‘gutted’

On Tuesday’s episode of MasterChef Australia: Back To Win, Rose Adam was eliminated after a tough pressure challenge.

The chef was tasked with re-creating the ‘pasta not pasta’ dish from trendy Melbourne eatery EnterViaLaundry.

Rose, who owns the The Middle Store cafe in Adelaide, was undone by her pasta, which while silky, was deemed too thin and she was bid goodbye by the judges.

However the always-perky chef had a warm message for the show, telling the contestants upon her elimination: ‘I am a huge MasterChef fan.

‘I’ve watched every single one of these guys in every one of their seasons. So, it’s been amazing to actually make friends with them and connect with them, see you guys take the reins, which has been phenomenal.

‘Life is so good outside of MasterChef. I’m going back to my beautiful cafe. I’m happy, yeah.’

Speaking to Ten Daily after her elimination, Rose said she enjoyed being on the show this time – however it was not the same situation when she appeared on season seven in 2015.

Rose competed in eight consecutive Elimination Challenges and it depleted her confidence, leaving her unable to have fun on the show the first time around.

She said:  ‘Can I tell you, this is not a lie, I’m not just putting this on – my first time in season seven, that was not me, I was a mess.

‘I was stressed out, I was in every elimination pretty much, I was anxious the whole time, I was nervous the whole time,’ she added.

So sad! Fans were left mourning her departure on Tuesday, with one Tweeting: 'Loved Rose and hated to see her go. This season is pure torture'
