Reese Witherspoon asked Laura Dern to reenact a scene from Dynasty as her birthday present

Reese Witherspoon has formed a close bond with fellow Academy Award winning actress Laura Dern since they starred side-by-side in Big Little Lies on HBO.

And during a recent Instagram Live, Reese revealed that for her 44th birthday she asked Dern, 53, to reenact a scene from the 1980s drama series Dynasty with her.

‘It was the very beginning of quarantine and I only had one thing that I wanted,’ explained,’ explained Reese as she grinned with delight.

For the scene, Reese requested that she play the role of Krystle Carrington, while Dern played Alexis Carrington.

The original roles were iconically played by actresses Linda Evans and the legendary Joan Collins.

Dynasty debuted in 1981 and remained on the air until 1989 after nine successful seasons on ABC.

According to Laura, her and Reese spent a decent amount of time putting the entire thing together, while still maintaining their social distance.

‘The most fun thing was we just started watching clips of the two of them like crazy to figure out what we could reenact in our quarantine social distanced world,’ she explained.

As for their crew, Reese had the help of 16-year-old son Deacon, while Dern got a hand from 15-year-old daughter Jaya and son Ellery, 18.

‘And our teenagers were our crew, they were amazing,’ she gushed.

Reese added: ‘Our teenagers filmed it, did the music, and edited it.’

Though the pair mutually agreed that their at-home reenactment turned out to be a bonafide masterpiece, they have not yet released it to the public.

‘Oh my god. It was so fun. You are my favorite person to improv with. You always make me laugh,’ expressed Reese with a massive smile.
