‘It’s embarrassing!’ MasterChef judge Jock Zonfrillo reveals how he REALLY feels about being called ‘daddy’ by pregnant singer Katy Perry

Fans of MasterChef Australia went into a frenzy on Thursday, after pregnant singer Katy Perry appeared on the show and called Jock Zonfrillo ‘daddy.’

And now the 43-year-old judge has revealed how he really feels about the cheeky quip.

Speaking on Studio 10 on Friday, the Scottish chef said he found the comment rather ’embarrassing’ and joked that trying to ‘control’ the American star on set was an ‘absolute nightmare.’

‘Look, it’s embarrassing,’ Jock said via a video chat.

‘Katy Perry is a dynamo. She came in the kitchen, she broke all the rules. And the twist was actually on the judges, because trying to control her and contain her was an absolute nightmare.’

He added: ‘She was hilarious, absolutely hilarious, but she didn’t stick by any of the rules, which we loved of course. It made for a hilarious episode.’

Jock went on to add that since they used her hit single Hot ‘n’ Cold for the past 12 years, they felt obligated to have her on the show while she was in Australia.

‘And you know what, she’s being singing the theme tune for MasterChef for the last 12 years, so the least we could do was have her on for an episode, I reckon,’ he said.

The chart-topper left the show’s contestants and judges speechless on Thursday, when she begged Jock to cut up her food because she had sprained her thumb, before cracking the ‘daddy’ joke.

‘Will you cut my meat for me?’ Katy asked Jock, after being presented with Shanghainese red-braised pork during a taste testing.

Katy laughed as Jock obliged, before singing: ‘Party in my mouth! Put it in my mouth, daddy!’

Jock obliged the request and the joke appeared to get a slew of laughs from the contestants and judges, including Andy Allen who said: ‘Can you cut mine, too, please, daddy?’

The risqué gag sent fans of the show into a frenzy at home, with Twitter immediately erupting in commentary.

‘Did she just say put it in my mouth Daddy?’ one fan questioned.

While another added: ‘Hopefully Katy Perry’s #MasterChefAU legacy is not the theme song but everyone calling Jock ‘Daddy.’

Another fan added: ‘Please, I was calling Jock “Daddy” before this show even started.’

Meanwhile, one viewer couldn’t resist joking about judge Andy’s response.

‘Andy calling Jock a daddy, well then,’ they said.
