‘Is it just me or does he look like Mr G?’ MasterChef fans are convinced guest chef Matt Stone is comedian Chris Lilley in disguise

Chris Lilley is arguably one of Australia’s most hilarious comedians.

But fans of the 45-year-old Summer Heights High star were forced to do a double-take while watching MasterChef on Monday night.

While guest celebrity chef, Matt Stone, is well-known in the culinary world, reality television viewers were convinced the chef was actually Chris, 45, in disguise.

‘Since when did Chris Lilley become a chef?’ one viewer asked on Twitter.

‘Sneaky Mr. G appearance for his homeschooling students tonight,’ another joked.

‘Is it just me or does the male guest chef look like Chris Lilley’s Mr G?’ a third questioned.

Hellen ‘Greg’ Gregson, best known as Mr G, is a fictional character best remembered from the ABC series Summer Heights High, which premiered in 2007.

Another viewer suggested Matt could provide inspiration for his Chris’ next character.

On the night, the award-winning chef was joined Jo Barrett who helped mentor the challenge, with each team cooking a sweet or savoury menu.

The pair both hail from Oakridge Restaurant located in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, which has been ranked as one of the state’s 100 best restaurants.
