MasterChef fans were furious when Hayden Quinn was eliminated from the reality cooking show on Sunday.      

But the 34-year-old gave fans a special treat on Wednesday, when he plated-up a much-missed pub favourite, chicken schnitzel. 

Taking to Instagram, Hayden showed off the mouth-watering dish.

‘Anyone else missing the good old chicken schnitty from the pub?’ Hayden wrote, showing the popular chicken dish surrounded by a small amount of mash and green leaves. 

Hayden went on to add that it was missing a litre of gravy and perhaps a few beers. 

‘I know I know it’s missing a liter of gravy and a couple of schooners!’ he wrote, adding the hashtags #TAHQ #foodbyHQ.

Hayden was eliminated from MasterChef Australia: Back to Win on Sunday, prompting an outcry from fans of the series.    

The chef was undone when he failed to make horseradish and beetroot the starring ingredients in his final dish.

Fans were upset to see their favourite go, describing the laid back blonde chef as a positive force on the show.

One person Tweeted: ‘That’s it. I’m rioting. Hayden brought so much joy and positivity to MasterChef’. 

Another person watching at home chimed in: ‘Thanks Hayden – some of the fun just left with you.’ 

One fan wrote: ‘Hayden you will be missed! You’re the only one that made dishes I’d actually eat! I’ll definitely still be attempting your recipes for years to come.’

Another fan Tweeted: ‘Wearing a pen behind my ear tomorrow in honour of Hayden.’ 

‘Yes. He will be missed. His attitude and positivity are really inspiring. And I like how he left the kitchen with big smile on his face. Gracefully,’ wrote one at-home fan. 

Another keen viewer added: ‘Mum’s full on crying watching Hayden leave. I’ll definitely miss what he brought to the show. A good energy and willing to try new things always’.

After his departure, the Family Food Fight star and cookbook author said that he found being on MasterChef again a rush. 

Hayden told Ten Daily: ‘MasterChef is such an amazing opportunity, it’s a little bit addictive, the adrenaline rush, all that is suddenly very hard to say no to’. 

The chef, who is currently filming the second season of his outdoorsy series Taste Of Australia, added: ‘I think my time in the kitchen is very much over, I’ll stick to cooking food in a goat paddock.’
