MasterChef viewers can’t get enough of Melissa Leong, raving about the new judge on social media.

Fans of the 38-year-old food critic flocked to Twitter on Wednesday to praise her compassion during an incredibly emotional episode. 

‘Melissa wins MasterChef this year,’ tweeted one fan, while another wrote, ‘Melissa delights me’.

Melissa, along with Andy Allen and Jock Zonfrillo, replaced Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris, as judges on this year’s season of the hit cooking show. 

‘Melissa is perfect for this show. Please never get rid of her,’ tweeted one viewer.

‘How good is Melissa on @masterchefau? I’m used to watching this for the contestants but I love every time she is on my screen,’ wrote a fan.

Showing off her sensitive side, Melissa cried while listening to contestant Reynold Poernomo talk about his difficult childhood after his parents immigrated to Australia.

‘I remember immigration getting my parents taken away for a little bit. The restaurant closed down, of course. My brother was getting food for me when I was hungry,’ the 26-year-old said in between tears.  

His story prompted Melissa to become emotional, and she struggled to regain her composure. 

‘You’re going to make me emotional, too! I’m sure your parents are very proud of you. Damn you, Reynold!’ she laughed in between tears. 

MasterChef continues Thursday at 7.30pm on Channel 10
