  • Parents Raquel and Derek Pearson, both 30, were moved to tears by her gesture
  • They were buying medical supplies for their nine-month-old son Lucas Pearson
  • Couple from Nampa, Idaho, shared doorbell clip on social media and went viral

An Amazon delivery driver was captured on a doorbell camera saying a prayer for a child she was delivering medical supplies to.

Parents Raquel and Derek Pearson, both 30, noticed the heartwarming moment while they watched the footage from the doorbell at their home in Nampa, Idaho.

The couple were both moved to tears by delivery worker Monica Salinas’s prayer for their nine-month-old son Lucas.

The 41-year-old delivery driver can be seen in the footage bowing her head in prayer and signing a cross before walking back to her van to deliver more parcels.

She stopped to say a prayer for the boy when she saw a thank you note from the family praising delivery workers for their hard work during the coronavirus pandemic.

Ms Salinas told CNA: ‘I was delivering a package and I saw a message on the door explaining that the baby at home needed many things and was grateful for us delivering things. It touched my heart.

‘I said: “Dearest God, please protect this family through your precious blood and this baby so that he may grow to become a man.”‘

Lucas has a congenital heart condition – an aberrant right subclavian artery – which causes his missing heart artery to press on his esophagus.

The heart condition led to him having dysphagia, which causes people to have problems swallowing certain foods and liquids or are unable to swallow at all.

To help him, Lucas’s parents have been buying thickeners from Amazon during the coronavirus pandemic, which Ms Salinas was leaving on their porch on May 2.

The family have been forced to keep Lucas self-isolated at home as his condition also causes respiratory problems.

To praise the delivery workers who have helped the family, they left a note outside their home to thank them for all their hard work.

Mrs Pearson shared the heartwarming video on social media in a bid to find the delivery driver and, as well as finding her, the video went video – being shared more than 100,000 times.
