But despite telling host Sonia Kruger he was hoping to develop his social skills in the house, it appears the 25-year-old fossil fanatic is actually a secret party boy.
Another important detail he failed to mention during his TV debut on Monday night is the fact he is in a long-term relationship.

The geeky couple went ‘Facebook official’ in November 2016, when Kerryn shared a photo of them cuddling up at the beach.
They are still going strong to this day, as Ian shared a selfie of the pair to Instagram earlier this week as he prepared for the Big Brother premiere.

When he’s not spending time with Kerryn, it appears the Perth-based waiter with a passion for geology has an active social life.

In some of the pictures, he is seen sculling drinks and getting rowdy.

Ian has become a fan favourite following Monday night’s Big Brother premiere.
Before entering the Manly compound, he said: ‘To be honest, social situations scare me a lot, but that’s something I’m trying to work on.
‘And that’s why I want to be on Big Brother.’
He explained that growing up in the bush in WA as an only child had left him with poor social skills compared to his peers.
