MasterChef stars’ ruthless battle for fame: Contestants ulterior motives are exposed as they vie for book contracts and television deals

Sometimes winning isn’t everything.

And when it comes to MasterChef Australia, the contestants know it pays to be one step ahead of the series finale.

As the show enters its last weeks, the chefs are said to be ruthlessly competing for book contracts, TV deals and sponsorship gigs.

MasterChef: Back to Win welcomed back 24 former contestants, who are all competing for a cash prize of $250,000.

According Woman’s Day, the battle for fame supposedly began long before the series came close to crowning its winner.

‘Everyone is trying to cash in on the show’s booming popularity. It’s everyone for themselves when it comes to making it happen after the show,’ a source claimed.

Khanh Ong, Laura Sharrad and Sarah Tiong are all rumoured to be in talks to launch their own television spin-offs after the finale airs.

Tessa Boersma was also recently spotted asking fans on social media for help finding a videographer for a secret project.

Many of the stars have their own agents. In fact, Reynold Poernomo recently signed with celebrity agency SF Management, which previously looked after Karl Stefanovic.

Khanh and Sarah have also promoted their upcoming cookbooks, which are set to be released after the show’s winner is announced.

Before joining the all-star series, the 24 chefs had already had a taste of success in the industry due to their previous TV appearances.

The lineup of famous alumni have produced a total of 14 cookbooks, 13 TV shows, and 26 businesses between them.
