Step back in time! Kylie Minogue shares 1980s throwback photo taken on the set of Neighbours

Kylie Minogue sent her fans stepping back in time on Friday. 

The pop icon shared a throwback photo from her 1980s heyday, taken on the set of soap opera Neighbours. 

In the Instagram image, the 52-year-old posed outside the Lassiters hotel set, sitting perched alongside a small pond. 

Kylie was in her full 1980s splendour, with a large, curly hairdo, wearing a polka dot skirt and a tank top with a tight belt. 

The singer captioned the photograph writing jokingly, ‘casual’. 

The I Should Be So Lucky singer played Charlene Robinson on Neighbours between 1986 and 1988. 

Having turned 52 herself earlier this month, Kylie wished her long-time friend Jason Donovan a happy birthday as he celebrated turning the same age recently. 

Kylie shared a series of snaps from their 40-year friendship on Instagram, starting from their days as young lovers on Neighbours in the 1980s.

She captioned the snaps: ‘Happy birthday Jason!!! We go back such a long way now. What amazing times!’

She shared a clip from Neighbours to Instagram Stories too, of Jason’s character Scott trying to get a kiss of his girlfriend Charlene, played by Kylie.  

The snaps were all from their time on the long-running Australian soap, save for one more recent image of them performing together recently.

The pair are two of the most iconic characters from Neighbours, both leaving the show to pursue successful pop careers.
