Gemma Collins ‘vows to crack the US by landing a spot on Dancing With The Stars after being snubbed by Strictly bosses’

Gemma Collins is vying for a spot on Dancing With The Stars in the US, it has been reported.

Sources claim the TOWIE star, 39, has vowed to crack America by taking to the dancefloor after being supposedly snubbed by Strictly Come Dancing for being too ‘low-calibre.’

It comes amid claims that Gemma is also hoping to compete with Gwyneth Paltrow by launch her own wellness and cosmetics brand.

A source told The Sun that Gemma is determined to crack the US after impressing fans with her cameo on Orange Is The New Black, and is hoping a spot on DWTS could be in her future.

They said: ‘Gemma would love to have another crack at the US. The Americans loved her when she made a cameo on Orange is the New Black in 2018, and bookers on Dancing with the Stars have shown an interest.

‘Gemma’s schedule is always jam-packed and it’s difficult for this year but the team in the US are keen to secure her for 2021.’

Dancing With The Stars is expected to return to US screens later this year, though there are expected to be changes to the show’s format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Gemma Collins, Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing With The Stars for comment.

Back in 2017, Gemma was unimpressed when Strictly judge Craig Revel-Horwood implied she was too ‘low calibre’ to take part in the show.

Hitting back at his comments she told The Sun: ‘I find his comment funny. I’m not low rent, Craig.

‘We’ve all got to start somewhere and it’s a shame to just knock someone out of giving them a chance because they don’t think I’m high calibre enough.’

It’s also been reported that Gemma is planning to launch a lifestyle brand to rival Gwyneth Paltrow’s multi-million pound company Goop by trademarking her name.

According to The Sun, the star has already filed paperwork meaning other companies cannot use her name to promote products or brands.

The paperwork also states this trademark applies to hundreds of different products, including cosmetics, clothes, books and DVDs.

While Gwyneth’s Goop brand has faced ridicule, it is thought to be worth around £191 million due to its range of high-end wellness products.
