Abbie Chatfield says she was ‘THRILLED’ to leave Bachelor in Paradise

Abbie Chatfield says she was ‘THRILLED’ to leave Bachelor in Paradise after previously saying the show was one of her biggest regrets

While she may have seemed upset after her elimination from Bachelor in Paradise on Thursday, Abbie Chatfield has claimed she was actually ‘thrilled’ to be leaving.

In an interview with The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday, the 25-year-old insisted she was only ‘crying because of joy’.

‘When I was crying when I left, I was crying because of joy!’ she said, after missing out on a rose.

Although it wasn’t shown in the episode, Abbie said she was actually ‘giggling in the rose ceremony’ because she couldn’t wait to leave.

‘Helena [Sauzier] hit me and said, “Don’t laugh, you look like a d**khead” because I was so happy that I was leaving, and I was so thrilled,’ she added.

It’s not the first time Abbie has said she was excitement to leave the show, which was filmed between November and December last year.

In a video shared to Instagram on Thursday night, just hours after her elimination aired on TV, Abbie said she didn’t care that she was off the show.

A friend could be heard asking her how she felt, and she responded bluntly: ‘I don’t really give a f**k, do I? Get me some d**k, maybe?’

In another clip, her friend asked what her ‘biggest regret’ was from Bachelor in Paradise.

Pulling a disgusted face for the camera, Abbie responded: ‘Arriving!’

In an interview with Pedestrian on Friday, Abbie said she was ‘so excited to leave’ after Jamie Doran gave his rose to Brittney Weldon instead of her.

‘If you saw me crying in the interview after, it was because I was crying tears of joy – everybody was like, “Oh, poor Abbie, my heart’s breaking,”‘ she said.

‘But, like, I’m smiling holding my face because I was crying tears of joy that I got to leave.

‘Everyone in my DMs has been like, “I’m so sorry, you looked so upset” and I wasn’t watching it and I was, like, cackling with laughter because I was so happy to leave. Get me out of here!’

She added that she was ‘just bored’ on the show, adding that she ‘didn’t even like’ the one person she was looking forward to seeing: Ciarran Stott.
