Emily Andre has shared an honest insight into being a mother, admitting there have been times where she has felt like a ‘horrible parent’.

The wife of Peter Andre, 30, spoke out about her parenting mishaps after TOWIE star Danielle Armstrong admitted she felt terrible when she accidentally cut her daughter Orla, two months, when trying to file her nails.

Emily recalled a particularly scary incident when her daughter Amelia, now six, flipped over in the bath as a baby and swallowed a lot of water.

Writing in her OK! column, the doctor said: ‘I think every parent will have gone through a situation where they’ve ended up feeling like a horrible parent, even though what happened was a complete accident.

‘I remember when Millie was a few months old and she was in the bath, she tried to flip over and all of a sudden she went under the water and swallowed a load.

‘It was really shallow and I obviously grabbed her straight away, but she was sick afterwards and so distressed, it was horrible.’

Emily’s story comes after Danielle admitted she ‘felt sick’ after fiancé Tom Edney clipped baby Orla’s nails for the first time and accidentally cut her

The former TOWIE star, 32, took to Instagram to say she ‘couldn’t cope’ with what had happened after hearing her two-month-old baby cry following the accident.

Danielle described it as the ‘most traumatic experience’ and joked how the couple are ‘bad parents’ following the mishap.

Speaking from her Essex home, the TV personality said: ‘I literally just had the most traumatic experience.

‘I noticed Orla had a little scratch in the corner of her eye so I thought, “right I need to cut her nails – they are growing”

‘Now Tom always clips his nails so I thought he would be better at doing them than me. So I am holding her, she is in the bath, I am holding her hand.

‘Tom clips the thumbnail and he catches a bit of her skin. The scream honestly, I can’t even cope, and there was a tiny little bit of blood – I felt sick, I actually felt sick.’

The first-time mother added: ‘The scream honestly it was just awful – she is all chilled now but it was just awful.

‘I am never doing that again there must be a baby nail clipping place.’

However Tom, dubbed the ‘baby nail killer’ by Danielle, revealed how despite trimming his own, he has ‘never cut a baby’s nails before’.

Turning to his fiancée, he added: ‘I came up them stairs and you said to me, “I think you will be good at doing them”‘.

Speaking in a later post, Danielle felt better after revealing how ‘apparently loads of people have done it’ but Tom quipped: ‘Why are you trying to make me feel bad?’

‘They way you went on was like she needed ten stitches on it,’ he added.

Danielle, who said she has ‘never clipped nails’ before, explained how she would ‘file’ Orla’s nails in the future to prevent the risk of nipping her daughter’s delicate skin.

As Tom lay by her side on the bed, she added: ‘We are bad parents – I think I need a drink.

‘This is what happens with parenthood.’

Orla was born on May 26 at 4.30pm weighing 8lbs 11oz after a 72-hour labour at Broomsfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
