‘We’ll see what happens!’ MasterChef star Reynold Poernomo reveals he’s ‘in talks’ with Channel 10 to host his own cooking show

He was a fan favourite on MasterChef Australia this year.

And despite not winning the show, dessert king Reynold Poernomo has revealed that he’s ‘in talks’ with Channel 10 to host his very own cooking series.

Speaking on The Project on Monday night before the Back to Win finale, Reynold, 26, said that fans ‘will have to wait and see what happens’.

‘We need to see the Reynold dessert show as a standalone show on Channel 10, with you starring in the front. What about that?’ said The Project host Steve Price.

Reynold then replied: ‘We’re actually in talks, but we’ll see what happens. We’ll see.’

He was then asked who he thought would win MasterChef, but played coy, saying: ‘I definitely won’t have my show if I spoil anything!’

Despite making it to the top three, Reynold was sadly eliminated in Sunday night’s episode of MasterChef.

His elimination left Emelia Jackson and Laura Sharrad to battle it out in the kitchen during Monday’s grand finale.

The series concluded with Emelia being crowned the winner, taking home a whopping $250,000.

Laura placed runner-up and pocketed $30,000.

Emelia was elated, crying out, ‘Are you serious? Are you serious?’ over and over in delight.

‘I just can’t believe it. It’s been the most special experience of my life and I owe it all to the three of you,’ she said, pointing to judges Melissa Leong, Andy Allen and Jock Zonfrillo, before paying homage to her competitor: ‘And I owe it to this little lady.

‘Being able to reconnect with Laura after so many years has been just magic for me. She’s just incredible. She’s just… so amazing.’
