Married At First Sight’s Nasser Sultan slams Channel 10 for casting blonde, blue-eyed sisters for The Bachelorette instead of a ‘culturally diverse’ lead

Former Married At First Sight star Nasser Sultan has slammed Channel 10 for casting two blonde-haired, blue-eyed sisters for a joint role on The Bachelorette.

Clearly fed up in a video shared to his Instagram on Wednesday, the reality said ‘in this day and age, you would think that producers would cast some cultural diversity.’

And with former Bachelor star Elly Miles and her older sister Becky having been announced as the show’s new leads, Nasser expressed his annoyance of having to sit through another season of ‘same same, but different.’

Where’s the diversity? Former Married At First Sight star Nasser Sultan has slammed Channel 10 for casting two blonde-haired, blue-eyed sisters for a joint role on The Bachelorette

Nasser said in the video: ‘So, The Bachelorette for 2020 has been announced and we’re not going to put up with one, we’re going to put up with two [lead women], right.

‘In this day and age, with all that’s going on, you would think that producers would cast some cultural diversity. But no we are set to have the same same but different.’

He offered some advice to producers, saying: ‘Please think outside the square and cast someone outside the norm – not the same blonde hair and blue eyes.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted a Channel Ten representative for further comment.

Earlier on in the day, The Bachelorette Australia announced it will feature two sisters searching for love in a franchise first.

And while fans of the franchise will be familiar with former Bachelor star Elly, her older sister Becky is new to television.

Elly was a popular contestant on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor last year, but was sent home after she warned Matt that another contestant, Abbie Chatfield, was only there to become ‘Instagram famous’.

The 25-year-old works as a nurse, while her older sister has been a defence contracting specialist for the Australian Government since 2016.

Becky, who has recently suffered a heartbreak, is looking for someone honest and loyal, and who has good ‘banter’.

It’s unclear how long Becky has been single for, as she last confirmed she was in a relationship on Facebook in August 2019.
