Woman, 50, is charged with the murder of a man, 43, whose body was pulled from a York river in 2007

  • Sharon Roustoby, 50, from Clifton will appear in Leeds Crown Court tomorrow
  • She has been charged with the 2007 murder of John David Clarke, 43
  • In April, David Roustoby, 44, was arrested and charged with Mr Clarke’s murder
  • Mr Clarke’s body was pulled from the River Foss near Towthorpe in 2007 

A woman has been charged with the 2007 murder of a man whose body was recovered from a river in Yorkshire. 

Sharon Roustoby, 50, from Clifton will appear in Leeds Crown Court tomorrow morning having been charged with the murder of John David Clarke, who was pulled from the River Foss, near Towthorpe. 

A member of the public spotted Mr Clarke’s body in the river and it was recovered by emergency services.

She is the second person to be charged in connection with the 43-year-old victim’s murder.  

David Roustoby, 44, was arrested and charged with Mr Clarke’s murder in April. 

He is expected to stand trial in October, which is expected to last five days. 

After his arrest, he appeared in York Crown Court, which was sitting in Leeds Crown Court, where he denied Mr Clarke’s murder.
