Shock twist in Bachelor in Paradise legal case as class action lawsuit looms

Shock twist in Bachelor in Paradise legal case as it emerges Jamie Doran’s lawyer is ‘trying to convince his co-stars to join a class action lawsuit against Channel 10’

Just two days after announcing plans to sue Channel 10 and Warner Bros. over his unfair portrayal on Bachelor in Paradise, Jamie Doran is now pushing for a class action lawsuit.

The 40-year-old’s lawyer ‘has already started calling around to a bunch of other contestants from this season, and asking if they would be interested in joining Jamie’s fight for justice,’ reports the So Dramatic podcast.

However, he may have difficulty winning his case in court because he apparently boasted to friends before going to Fiji last year that he wanted to be the ‘biggest villain Paradise has ever seen’.

Megan Pustetto, the host of So Dramatic, claimed she has ‘receipts’ that prove Jamie ‘was planning to be the most controversial character’ on the show.

Daily Mail Australia has also learned from sources close to production that Jamie was more than happy to cooperate with producers to stir up drama.

A source said: ‘He would go above and beyond during interviews. Producers would go, “Can we have another take?” and he would be like, “I’ll give you ten more takes!”‘

Meanwhile, Jamie apparently had ambitions to couple up with Abbie Chatfield ‘so they could be the biggest villains together’.

However, she didn’t play along and made it very clear that Jamie was too old for her.

On Wednesday, Jamie announced on Instagram that he had begun ‘legal proceedings against Network 10 and Warner Bros. Australia’.

‘This is not the news I wanted to post, but I feel I owe this to at least my family, friends, and also fans of The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise,’ he wrote.

‘After lengthy consideration, I’ve decided to begin legal proceedings against Network 10 and Warner Bros. Australia.

‘I’m not going to comment on this any further for the time being and would appreciate it if people would respect my privacy.’

On Thursday, Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed that Jamie had hired Sydney lawyer Keith Redenbach, a partner of Redenbach Lee, to represent him.

Mr Redenbach made headlines in 2018 when he helped win Married At First Sight star Nasser Sultan an undisclosed financial settlement from The Daily Telegraph.

The newspaper had falsely claimed that Nasser had ‘gatecrashed an A-list event’ in Sydney when he had actually been invited as a special guest.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Jamie Doran and Channel 10 for comment.
