House Rules stars Katie and Alex announce the birth of their second child

House Rules’ Katie Middlemiss has welcomed her second child, a baby girl, with her husband Alex.

The reality TV stars shared the news alongside an adorable picture of their newborn, to Instagram on Sunday. 

‘Meet our sweetest new addition…Miss Florence. Born 31st July at 4:17am,’ the pair wrote.

They added: ‘We can’t wait to share all the lovely details with you. Thank you for all of your love, patience and beautiful wishes.’

Alex and Katie are also proud parents to two-year-old daughter Hallie.

They announced the impending arrival of their second child in an Instagram post in January.

The pair also admitted that their pregnancy journey ‘hasn’t been a walk in the park’, having struggled through the devastating miscarriage of their twins in 2018.

‘So, we know some of you have been wondering where we’ve disappeared to the past couple of months and we are so excited that we can finally share,’ the excited couple wrote on their post. 

They added: ‘Baby number two is joining us this winter!’ 

‘Now, despite the makeup and smiles, it’s safe to say this has not been a walk in the park for us,’ they said.

‘For now, we are insanely grateful that this little one seems to be growing just beautifully!’

The married couple revealed in an interview with New Idea in May last year, that they were ‘devastated’ when Katie suffered a miscarriage early on into her first pregnancy.

‘We lost twins in a miscarriage,’ Katie told the magazine. ‘We were just going for our first scan, we found out they were twins and that we’d lost both of them.’
