‘Twenty-four hours and counting! Keyhole surgery. Endometriosis found and removed. Bad hospital TV coming to an end. Now time to rest and heal and go home,’ she captioned the first clip.

In the video, Angie filmed herself in the hospital bed with a surgical mask on, before panning the camera to show her television.

She then shared another Instagram Story in which she responded to critics who had pointed out that she was wearing her face mask upside down.

What is endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a common disease in which the tissue that is similar to the lining of the womb grows outside it in other parts of the body.

Up to 10 per cent of women suffer with endometriosis at some point in their life with the disease often starting in teenagers.

Symptoms are variable and this may contribute to the seven to 10 year delay in diagnosis. Common symptoms include pelvic pain that puts life on hold around or during a woman’s period. It can affect fertility.

While endometriosis most often affects the reproductive organs, it is frequently found in the bowel and bladder and has been found in muscle, joints, the lungs and the brain.

‘I love that out of all that someone was like, “You have your mask on the wrong way,”‘ Angie said.

‘So just to make people happy, look, better?’ she added, flipping her mask the right way up.

‘Is that good? Do you feel better? Because I feel better because of that,’ she added, sarcastically.

Angie has spoken openly about her struggle with endometriosis in the past, telling TV Week last year that she was ‘relieved’ by the diagnosis.

‘I finally had answers as to why I’d been in such pain for such a long time,’ she said.

She was first diagnosed with the condition, which is caused when tissue lining the inside of the uterus grows outside the uterus, in 2016.

Since then, she has undergone several procedures to remove it.
