The Hammerhead is revealed on The Masked Singer

Tuesday’s episode of The Masked Singer saw former Australian cricketer Michael Bevan revealed as the Hammerhead.

After taking off his mask, the show’s judges were left stunned by the 50-year-old sport star’s impressive singing ability.

‘You did an amazing job. I honestly thought you might be Shannon Noll, but I actually thought, no, he’s a better singer than Shannon Noll. Wow,’ said an incredulous Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

Other guesses for the Hammerhead included country singer Keith Urban and former Wiggles star Murray Cook.

But no one expected it to be the talented batsman, with host Osher Günsberg visibly starstruck by Michael’s sudden manifestation on the stage.

‘It’s Michael Bevan! One of the greatest batsmen our country’s ever seen… Two World Cups! One-day superstar!’ gushed the 46-year-old veteran TV host.

‘Remember the one-day against West Indies? Do you remember that? Holy hell. That’s Michael Bevan!’

Judge Dave Hughes was equally blown away, excitedly branding Michael a ‘superstar’.

But Michael confessed that performing on The Masked Singer had been a ‘little bit different’ to playing a game of cricket.

After revealing he’d once turned Kylie Minogue’s head in the clues, the 52-year-old singer’s younger sister and Masked Singer judge Dannii Minogue couldn’t resist asking him what had happened.

‘We must have been staying in the same hotel. I walked in with a teammate. Kylie was in the lift,’ he recounted. 

‘As she was going out, she just turned and gave me a cheeky little smile.’
