Emilee Hembrow remembers her son on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Tammy Hembrow’s sister Emilee shared a heartfelt post remembering her stillborn son Jamal on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

The Gold Coast based entrepreneur, 28, tragically lost her unborn child when she was 30 weeks pregnant in June.

On Friday, she shared an image of an angel sleeping on a cloud with a rainbow in the background on Instagram.

‘My heart feels at ease knowing your watching over me’: On Friday, Emilee Hembrow remembered her stillborn son Jamal on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

In the emotional post she reflected on her loss, as well as the loss of many other mothers.

Emilee wrote: ‘Today we remember the babies born sleeping, those we carried but never got to hold for long, those we held but could not take home, those who came home but could not stay.

‘It’s been quite an emotional day for me. Thinking of Jamal and what life would have been like if he was here,’ she said.

‘My heart feels at ease knowing your watching over and waiting for me at the gates of paradise. Rest In Peace little angels,’ she added.

Emilee shared the heartbreaking news of her loss back in June, via Instagram, and wrote: ‘In the name of God, the most merciful, the most compassionate.

‘Truly to God we belong, and truly to Him we shall return. God doesn’t give a person a burden which they can’t not handle in this life.’

‘There is really no test harder that a person can face, than a loss of their child. The bond that is created between the mother and her child, through pregnancy forms the strongest of bonds. God loves those who are patient through hardship.’

‘I remember the doctor asking me if I wanted to hold him on my chest once I had delivered him. Initially I said no. I couldn’t comprehend the whole situation. I was physically and emotionally numb,’ she continued.

‘I had a nurse in the room with me and she told me that she had gone through the exact thing I was going through. She said if I didn’t hold him and embrace my baby it would be the biggest regret I would have. All I can say is she was right,’ she added.
