Roxy Jacenko reveals the truth behind that helicopter stunt on SAS Australia

‘It was double height when I fell out’: Roxy Jacenko reveals the truth behind THAT helicopter stunt on SAS Australia – as her husband Oliver Curtis lashes out at trolls who slammed her for leaving the show after just six hours

She was one of the 17 celebrities forced to complete an extreme helicopter stunt on SAS Australia during Monday’s premiere episode.

And on Tuesday, Roxy Jacenko revealed the extraordinary truth behind the terrifying stunt, which saw contestants fall backwards into freezing water below.

‘I was the first one who fell out. They obviously edited it so Candice Warner was first and I was second. But it was double the height when I fell out,’ she told The Kyle and Jackie O show.

She explained: ‘That was when I basically buggered myself, the impact of hitting that water. I wasn’t winded, it was a pure impact.’

‘Then we had to swim, and what you don’t see on TV was the swim was a really long way – probably about 10 Olympic pool laps back to shore.’

Roxy went on to say she had also filmed a scene explaining she’d fractured her pelvis and hip six weeks prior but it never aired.

‘There was a scene for quite a number of minutes where I spoke in that interrogation room, explaining that my aim was to show up and do the best I could given my circumstances and they were actually really good about it,’ she explained.

This comes after Roxy was slammed by fans for deciding to quit the show after just six hours because it was ‘too demanding’.

The PR Queen quit after the instructors made the celebrities submerge themselves in freezing cold water as punishment.

She refused to get into the water, and instead told the instructors that she wanted off the show.

‘I can’t do it. I actually can’t… My leg’s killing me. I can’t do it,’ the 40-year-old told the instructors as she handed over her armband.

On Tuesday, Roxy’s husband Oliver Curtis lashed out at trolls on Instagram and said he’s ‘so proud’ of his wife.

‘I am one to let Roxy speak for herself but this time I couldn’t help myself… Keyboard warriors are f*cking disgraceful,’ he wrote.

‘For even getting back on the horse I am proud, for persevering and not giving up on commitment, I am proud, for proving to the kids work ethic and not being scared, I am proud, for telling the doctors she will do it when they said it wasn’t smart, I am proud, for jumping out of a dam helicopter backwards 3x the height of anyone else, I am proud.’

He continued: ‘It’s about time we all get off the proverbial high horse and celebrate people for who they are and what they do.’

‘It’s not how hard you fall but how quickly and how many times you get back up. Or in both Roxy and my case how we both bounce back from the haters. Nothing but love for an amazing women.’
