‘It’s not appropriate’: Karl Stefanovic jokingly blasts his own mum for showing too much cleavage – and even tells her to ‘pull her shirt up’
Karl Stefanovic hilariously blasted his mum Jenny on the Today show this week for wearing a low-cut top on Instagram.
He made the remarks on Friday’s show while discussing a photo that his wife Jasmine Yarbrough posted of Jenny, 70, holding their baby Harper May.
‘Mum needs to pull her shirt up!’ he snapped, before adding: ‘What is going on there? That is not appropriate.’

His co-host Sylvia Jeffreys was taken aback by the comments, gasping: ‘Stop it!’
The original photo was posted by Jasmine on Thursday.
In the image, a smiling Jenny is shown holding baby Harper on her knee while wearing a black scoop-neck T-shirt and a burgundy cardigan.
‘Cuddles with Nanny,’ Jasmine captioned the photo, followed by a heart emoji.

Despite Karl’s comments about Jenny’s attire, he appeared to be joking as he’d shared the image to his own Instagram account along with a gushing caption.
‘My mum lives in Cairns. Covid stopped her from seeing our baby Harper,’ he wrote.
‘She was scared to come down initially. She didn’t want to get it. She didn’t want to fly. But last week she drove 2,500 kilometres to be with us. She’s had enough.’
‘A fierce beautiful magnificent independent vulnerable spiritual woman,’ he gushed.
‘Mum needs to pull her shirt up!’ Karl snapped, before adding: ‘What is going on there? That is not appropriate.’
‘Here she is presenting her grand daughter with my grandmother’s favourite flower – She is my mum. I love her,’ he concluded.
In the post, baby Harper is seen sitting on her nan’s lap, while another shared by Karl’s wife Jasmine, shows the proud grandmother holding her up.
Back in April, Karl spoke about his mother being unable to meet his newborn baby when she was born.

During a segment about mental health amid the coronavirus pandemic on the Today show, the breakfast host said his mum was ‘terribly anxious’ about COVID-19.
‘I spoke to my mum, mum is terribly anxious because she’s in Cairns on her own and trying to isolate,’ Karl explained.
‘She has anxiety about not being with us with the baby coming. That builds for her and I just said to her, because this Lifeline counsellor said to me, ‘you focus on the positives’.’
He added: ‘We will get through this. We will reach the other side. You will see the baby. You will do all those things.’
