Love Island star Eden Dally on what REALLY goes on behind the scenes of SAS Australia

EXCLUSIVE: No producers, no retakes and no socialising: Love Island’s Eden Dally reveals the brutal world of SAS Australia – and it’s even worse than what viewers see on TV

Love Island Australia alum Eden Dally is one of the 17 celebrity recruits who signed up for Channel Seven’s SAS Australia.

And he says the military-style show couldn’t be further from his past experiences with reality television.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, the 28-year-old confirmed there were no producers guiding the cast, no retakes, and that ‘everything is as crazy as seen on TV’.

SAS Australia EXCLUSIVE: Love Island star Eden Dally (pictured) has revealed how SAS Australia was different from what he’d experienced of reality TV before

Eden appeared on dating series Love Island in 2018 and, like some of his SAS co-stars, had a presumption of what would happen behind the scenes.

But while they were told what to expect, he was still shocked to live it.

‘This show has no producers coming over and telling you anything. It’s basically the DS [directing staff] that are running the course. There are no retakes and basically everything that you’re seeing happening is what’s happened,’ Eden said.

Speaking of his dire camp conditions, he said they were forced to wash up in the sink as there were no showers, and had to brush their teeth outside and always take someone to the bathroom with them at all times.

‘There was no allowance for luxuries at all. It was tough army conditions. They wanted it to be like you’e going to war,’ Eden explained.

While Love Island was a social show in balmy Majorca, Spain, Eden said the SAS cast were not always allowed to talk to one another and were left freezing while filming in New South Wales’ Snowy Mountains.

‘Once the fire goes out in the middle of the night, you are shivering on ice. It’s physically and mentally draining. We all knew what we were signing up for – including becoming injured or getting hypothermia – but when you get there it really does hit you as a big shock.’

So far the recruits have had to fall out of helicopters, crawl across mud in the freezing cold, run hours of physical drills, and practice intense marksman skills.

‘As a first-time father it was my biggest challenge missing my family… I was really hurting inside and was definitely missing Cyrell (his partner, MAFS star Cyrell Paule) and Boston (their eight-month-old son),’ Eden said.

Cyrell and Eden began dating in March 2019 and the couple welcomed son, Boston, on February 9, 2020.

‘I’m getting nervous re-watching it, and I was there!’ Eden said of SAS Australia.
