Schapelle Corby reveals her fans are dressing up as her for Halloween

‘It’s so weird!’ Schapelle Corby says fans are dressing up as her for Halloween… and one even accessorised with a boogie board

Schapelle Corby rose to infamy after being convicted of smuggling cannabis in her boogie board into Indonesia back in 2004.

And 16 years on, the 43-year-old revealed that some of her fans are now dressing up as her for Halloween.

On Saturday, the SAS Australia star said on Instagram that she was being tagged in photos of party-goers dressed up as her for the American holiday.

‘It’s so weird,’ she said in a video, which was shared with her 170,000 followers.

‘So many people are dressing up as me for Halloween after they’ve mowed their lawn and they’re sending me their (photos), their tagging me,’ she added.

Among the Halloween revellers who tagged Schapelle was a young man who wore a long brown wig with an orange prison-style T-shirt labelled ‘Corby’.

He accessorised his look with a boogie board that featured printed images of what appeared to be cannabis cling wrapped around it, seemingly all in the name of humour.

Schapelle’s ‘weird’ Halloween moment comes after she recently took part as a recruit on Channel Seven’s SAS Australia.

Unfortunately for her, the selection course proved too demanding and she voluntarily withdrew from the show in episode two.

In 2004, Schapelle became a household name when she was arrested at Bali airport with 4.2kg of cannabis wrapped in plastic inside her boogie board bag – a crime she still denies committing.

In May 2005, the world watched as she broke down in the Denpasar courtroom after being sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.

Due to a series of sentence reductions, Schapelle was released on parole in February 2014, having served nine years behind bars.

She lived in Bali with family until she was deported back to Australia in May 2017.
