SAS Australia: Candice Warner says a ‘weight’ has been lifted after interrogation

Candice Warner reveals an ‘enormous weight’ has been lifted off her shoulders after her SAS Australia interrogation

She was grilled about her party-girl past and her husband’s cricketing scandals during a tense interrogation on SAS Australia last week.

And now, Candice Warner feels like an ‘enormous weight’ has lifted after she was finally being able to address the demons of her past.

‘I’ve never felt so stripped bare… to feel that vulnerable on the one hand, and to feel this enormous weight lift from my shoulders,’ the former Ironwoman, 35, told Woman’s Day.

Cricket WAG Candice Warner, 35, (pictured) has admitted feeling like an ‘enormous weight lifted’ after finally being able to address the past during her SAS Australia interrogation

Candice is married to cricketer David Warner, with whom she shares three daughters, Ivy Mae, six, Indi Rae, four, and 16-month old Isla Rose.

She explained she’d been able to ‘grow thick skin’ after years of getting slammed online by trolls.

‘The only time I’ve ever taken offence was the time I was accused of being a bad mother. That cut deep because I know I’m a really good mum and a wonderful wife,’ she told the publication.

During her SAS interrogation, Candice was asked about her 2007 ‘toilet tryst’ with NRL star Sonny Bill Williams, which took place years before she met David.

Although she was reluctant to discuss the matter, she did mention it in the context of the sledging her husband received while playing cricket in South Africa in 2018.

She told the show’s interrogators: ‘There were incidents in South Africa where people were trying to make fun of me, mock me, belittle me in front of my family because of an incident that happened in the past. And that they think that’s funny.’

Asked to elaborate on the fling with Sonny, Candice snapped: ‘It was just a bad mistake. I don’t want to talk about it.’

She was slightly more open during an on-camera interview prior to the interrogation, saying of the toilet tryst: ‘In my early twenties I made a very big mistake. It is something I am not proud of but something I can never take back.

‘I put myself in a situation where I shouldn’t have and because of that I brought embarrassment, shame to my family.’

SAS Australia continues Monday at 7:30pm on Channel Seven
