Inside Ali Oetjen’s painful split from Taite Radley and the toxic habit she developed afterwards

She may have jumped from helicopters, hiked up mountains and survived freezing temperatures on SAS Australia.

But Ali Oetjen says nothing compares to the challenge of mending a broken heart.

Speaking on the How To… Life podcast on Tuesday, the former Bachelorette, 34, spoke candidly about splitting from her ex-boyfriend Taite Radley, 29, three months ago, and why she’s terrified of dating again.  

‘[Dating] really actually scares me now. You think something’s it and then it doesn’t turn out to be what you were hoping, even throughout the relationship,’ Ali confessed. 

‘I’ve never had any relationship hurt so bad, I am still healing,’ she added.  

Ali admitted that the split became even more painful when she developed the toxic habit of checking personal trainer Taite’s Instagram page.   

‘You can’t help but not check their Instagram!’ the blonde lamented. 

‘I can definitely say that I have stopped checking [Taite’s] Instagram because I found that was a pattern as well that I had to break,’ she confirmed. 

Ali also revealed she and Taite initially kept in contact after breaking up because neither wanted to ‘fully let go’. 

Tragically, Ali said she would be left in tears after every interaction with her ex. 

The pair have since cut all forms of communication. 

Ali and Taite confirmed their split via Instagram in July, telling fans they were ‘taking time apart’ and giving each other ‘some space’. 

Just weeks later, Ali joined the cast of Channel Seven’s military-style show SAS Australia. 

During an interrogation scene, Ali tearfully spoke to the show’s Directing Staff about her heartbreak, choking back tears as she explained how ’empty’ she felt after losing the man she considered her ‘soul mate’.
